3 Levels of reading comprehension
1 - Readings On the Line (Academic Name: Literal)
- Understanding: What is the main idea of ...? describe, explain, paraphrase, retell.
- Remembering: Who, What, When, Where? cite, define, find, list
2 - Readings Between the Lines (Academic Name:Inferential)
- Analizing: What other ways could ...? categorize, dissect, examine, compare, contrast
- Apply: How would you solve? apply, demonstrate, implement, practice
- Understanding: What is the main idea of ...? describe, explain, paraphrase, retell.
- Remembering: Who, What, When, Where? cite, define, find, list
3 - Reading Beyon the Lines (Academic Name: Critical)
- Creating: What would it be if ...? create, develop, generate, produce, imagine
- Evaluating: Why do you think that ...? conclude, debate, justify, judge, assess

Today I realize that I'm not really good reader; but, I compromise myself to read english books to improve my skills and apply the techniques lerned today to obtain tools and give betther resources to my students
I think you are both a quick and good reader, otherwise you'd not be able to suggest the type of activities you come up with for your exercises, but you are right, the important thing here is to find out how to help our students become better at reading, and more importantly , to be really critical about what they read, and read between the lines to be able to appreciate what is not stated explicitly in the text.
